Water ATM usage in Dhaka has grown significantly, with residents increasingly relying on utility-operated booths for affordable safe drinking water, even as the expansion of new kiosks has not kept pace with rising demand, according to The Business Standard. Drinkwell continues to support Dhaka WASA’s Water ATM programme, which supplies millions of litres of purified water monthly and remains central to safe water access for low-income communities.

A senior U.S. official emphasized the importance of strong policy enforcement for ensuring safe drinking water in Bangladesh, and noted ongoing cooperation efforts that include initiatives such as Drinkwell’s Water ATM installations in Dhaka, which provide treated drinking water at around 300 locations. According to the report, the USAID partnership supports local efforts to improve access to affordable, purified water through utility-aligned infrastructure and promotional activities.
